5 “One-Spoonful” Hacks To Burn Belly Fat

5-one-spoonful-hacks-to-burn-belly-fat

Looking to lose weight? You’re not alone – many people struggle not just with losing weight, but with keeping it off once it’s gone.

While there are no fast and easy fixes (the best way to lose weight is still a combination of diet and exercise), many people turn to diet pills, drugs, and dangerous crash diets, none of which are effective in the long-term and all of which can have serious health repercussions.

There are, however, relatively simple ways you can support your body’s natural weight loss process, using organic and natural ingredients that are common in the food we eat.

The following is a list of foods that can help you in your weight loss process, especially when consumed regularly (but still in moderation – think a tablespoon a day).

1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is known for its many uses – it’s a versatile ingredient, and there’s much anecdotal evidence supporting its use in weight loss diets.

In North African cultures, apple cider vinegar has been taken for weight loss for many years. One teaspoon or a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar a day should be enough(1).

2. Raw Organic Honey

Raw organic honey has been found to be helpful in moderating the blood sugar and cholesterol levels of diabetic patients(2).

Raw honey also contains enzymes that are absent in processed honey, which can help keep your gut happy and your digestive system functioning well – which is very important when you’re trying to lose weight.

Take a spoonful of honey before bed. Honey helps improve sleep, which is important for maintaining a healthy metabolism.

3. Ginger

Ginger has been shown to be useful for obesity management (3), so why not incorporate it into your weight loss routine? Easy to cook with or brew into a tea, ginger is a truly versatile spice.

4. Turmeric

If part of your struggle with weight loss is inflammation and water retention, turmeric can help. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, this spice also helps stimulate your metabolism.

5. Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a common folk remedy for weight loss, but is it actually effective? Several studies show that when ingested it acts as an anti-obesity agent (4).

Adding lemon juice to your drinking water is a good way of getting this food into your diet and also keeping yourself hydrated, which will also help suppress your appetite.

Bottom Line

Weight loss can be a difficult journey, but it’s well worth the effort.

Often times we only hear about what foods and ingredients to avoid for weight loss, so it can be good to hear about what we can eat as well.

Other foods that are great for weight loss include fish proteins, whole grains (oatmeal, teff), avocados, and other fiber-rich foods.
